The LSFA 2018 will be held at the Department of Computer Science of the Federal University of Ceará. With more than 1.900 faculty members, 26.000 students, 45 PhD Programs, 60 Master Programs, 126 Undergrad Programs, the university has 7 Campi spread through 6 cities. Also, Logic is an active research area in the computer science departments at the Federal University of Ceará.

Fortaleza

Fortaleza is the state capital of Ceará, a northeastern state in Brazil, reachable by directly flights from many cities such as Lisbon, Milan, Frankfurt, Miami, Buenos Aires, Bogotá and São Paulo. It is known as one of the most attractive cities in Brazil, known by its paradisiac beaches, sand dunes, year-round wonderful weather. Being a touristic town and 5th most preferred touristic destination in Brazil, there are plenty of hotels, restaurants and tourism-related business.

Fortaleza has about 25 Km of urban beaches. The most popular are Iracema, a bohemian beach with bars and nightclubs, Mucuripe, where jangadas (a traditional fishing boat) can be seen along the way with fisherman coming and going to high seas, and Praia do Futuro, where several restaurants spread along the shore.

By Plane

The International Airport Pinto Martins can be reached by direct flights from many capitals (Lisbon, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdan, Miami, Orlando, Buenos Aires, Panamá) and by domestic flight from the main brazilian airports.

By Bus

The city Bus Station, called Terminal Engenheiro João Tomé, can be reached from all brazilian capitals.

Where to stay

Tourism is one the main economical activies in Fortaleza. There are plenty of hotels and hostels, but it is advisable that you book a place as soon as possible. Fortaleza is the venue of many conferences and meetings all over the year and hotels may run out of rooms.

We strongly advise you to stay at the main hotel zone at Praia de Iracema (from where the bus is going to depart towards the venue). Beira-mar is also an option. We list some options below, but you should book a place by yourself. Uber from the airport to Praia de Iracema costs about BRL 23-31 (Uber Select: BRL 28-38).
